Recommended for BMW VANOS Service

We recommend having a tube of Permatex Ultra Black RTV on hand whenever replacing a BMW valve cover gasket as part of a VANOS service.

Depending on the BMW engine, a small amount of RTV may be required at specific areas where the valve cover gasket crosses seams, sharp transitions, or half-moon sections of the cylinder head.

Do not coat the entire valve cover gasket in RTV. Apply only a small amount at the appropriate locations specified by the BMW repair procedure for your engine.
